Today must be my lucky day as I have found two very wonderful sites in a row. Blogatelle is so easy to read, it is like your favorite novel. Whenever it got to be a little slow, the next post picked the pace back up.

The author writes about things that go on in her daily life. Most of it has a little edge to it which takes the site out of the generalized posting. The posts are well written and well thought out, which is a good thing. As I said, I felt as if I was reading a novel, or a short story while going through all of the posts.

The design of the site is amazing. And of course it should be considering the author is a graphic designer. But the color scheme used is very unique to the weblog comunity as I don’t think I have seen it used before. There is a nice little “Imago” which changes every time you click on it.

The author has written many other things that have been published online. After I was done reading the weblog, I took the time to go and read some of these. Again, very good work. Exploring more with-in the site I noticed the author likes to take those stupid online tests. As of writing this, she has taken 45 of them! And of course she has links to all of them.

Delving even deeper into the site I found some wonderful artwork that she has done. The design of the outside site is much different than the weblog, but that didn’t distract me. Looking at the work just complemented the writing of the weblog.

If you have not clicked the link above to go and visit the site, then what are you waiting for? This is one of the best sites that I have ever been to. Very few sites are on my favorites anymore, but this one has earned its place. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this site become one of the very well known weblogs that are out there. Again, if you have not clicked on the link, what are you waiting for?Blogatelle

Wow I am tired now. Is that even possible? To be exhausted from reading a weblog? For most, I would say no. However, ImJstAGrrl managed to make me physically worn out just by reading the weblog.

Lets start at the beginning. Page first loads and it is a live journal page. Yeah, live journal. For some reason, live journal doesn’t have the greatest of weblogs and I don’t know why. But lets put that aside shall we?

So the page loads and I see this horrible background that is repeated. Each weblog post has its own black and red box, which matches the background, and that is about it. To put it simple, the background takes away from the design of the site, but it adds to the weblog. How can it do both you ask? The background is one of those old background images repeated. Most sites today do not have a background like this. And since this isn’t your every day weblog, the background works.

But we aren’t here to discuss the design too much; we are here to talk about her weblog. So how is it that one person’s weblog can make me tired? I am reading through the entries like I normally do, get down to the bottom for the archives and click on the link. The post that come up are from two days ago! ImJstAGrrl posts multiple times a day. So much so, that skipping the first 20 posts, took me back only two days. And the best part, its this way for a long time back.

Because of the mass number of posts, you should expect short little 3 line posts. That is what you get. But they make sense after reading the site for a while. If you just go into this site and read the first 5-10 posts, you are going to think this girl is a nut case. But if you start to actually read all of the posts, you will see it makes sense. To me, the posts were kind of like mini conversations you would have with your friends passing down the hall between classes in Jr. High or High School. But with more meaning to them. As I said, you have to read the site to understand them.

The only downfall I really had to the site was the little link to what she calls “nervous breakthrough”. The live journal page is just a page in her full site. The main site is nervous breakthrough and has some really good design and information about her in. She also has a webcam, but because she doesn’t fit the stereotypical camgirl, she doesn’t get that category.

Over all I think she has a good weblog here. Some of you may not like it, but I am sure that most of you will. If she applied the design of her Nervous Breakthrough page to her live journal page it would be even more appealing. Go enjoy.silent rage’s livejournal

One thing is for sure: you can’t accuse the author of (a)musings of being too brief or short-winded in her weblog entries. And for the most part, that turns out to be a good thing.

The weblog entries covered many subjects in detail. Everything from the guilty pleasures of watching MTV’s “The Real World” to detailed accounts of the arguments that took place with her husband over the timely purchase of tickets to a Barenaked Ladies concert. The author shows no fear in laying it all out for the visitor to read; a quality this reviewer admires. The posts are written well, and therefore manage to keep you entertained, almost in a voyueristic peek-into-someone’s-personal-journal kind of way.

The layout and design of the site left something to be desired, as there didn’t seem to be a common theme from page to page. The navigation was not the most intuitive I have seen, with different links appearing from page to page in different locations. However, I did like some of the images and photographs the author used to bind the site together. The random use of football play drawings as a tiled background was (a)musing.

Get your coffee and your bagle and read through (a)musings for some funny, witty, detailed weblog activity presented in an unabashed, wide-open manner. This is another good site that offers a different angle on life, and should be worth a second look.

Enter the bubble-ly world of Amy. This ‘Hello-Kitty’ inspired ‘wonderland’ is Amy’s home away from home as it seems. I do hope however that her real home is a little more dreary and a little less bright for the sake of everyone else who dwells there.

I like Amy, who couldn’t? She’s an 18 year old college student, undecided of her major, with a whole lot of spirit.

The design of Amy Vision is nice … If you’re into the whole ‘cheery’ thing, as I’m usually not and wouldn’t give this web log a second thought if it weren’t my job here. In any case, it’s fitting and I really can’t complain. Amy seems to know what she’s doing when it comes to design; she’s even confident enough to offer her web design services for a ‘cheap price.’

Amy’s writing is simple and never quite gets to any kind of uncomfortable depth; just sort of stays above water everyday.

I was waiting for Amy to break out into one of these …

‘Bob said that Julie said that Matt said that Laura asked Michael to say that Bob had Julie pregnant and Matt’s already going with Julie which really isn’t a very good impression on Laura and Michael who’ve been together for years now.’

But thankfully she didn’t quite get that extreme.

hmmm, you know how you can tell if someone is smiling while talking to them on the phone? Well, after reading Amy’s web log, I believe you can do the same thing over the internet. *sighs*

In conclusion…

Amy vision is a nice, happy web log. I would have given her a 5, which she rightfully deserves, but I wanted Amy to experience the insensitivity and unfairness that is life. >=)Aimy.net

There are three completely different portions of the site: a weblog, a random story built by reader contributions, and the “nodist network”. No section of the site should be missed.

Erich’s weblog is easy to read much in part to his way of getting straight to the point about whatever he’s talking about. He updates several times a day, giving the reader something to come back to on a regular basis.

The archives for the weblog is set up VERY cleanly, and VERY easy to sift through.

On two different days I visited this site, and I was fortunate enough to get to see two different site designs. Both were equally as enjoyable to look at, and equally as precise with the backend technical “stuff”.

This is a site that would be appropriate and interesting for people of any age to read, and is well worth the time spent reading it. I, for one, am glad I “nodist” Erich’s site.nodist
