VJ’s little blog is an interesting read. The design of the site is very easy on the eyes, with the main body of the blog straight down the middle and everything else straight down either side. Not a lot of whizz-bang wonder in the design but it works and it’s non-offensive. There’s a couple of kitty pictures which have done the rounds through email forwarding around the world on display in the bordering columns – but who can resist cute kittens with ridiculous expressions? Obviously not VJ. I don’t find fault with that. VJ is also relatively new to the blogging scene though her addiction to it shows. Regular updates abound which is always a good sign. I’m glad she’s having such good fun with it.

The first thing I looked for with this blog was the “About Me” information, I wanted to know who I was reading about and whose life I was delving into. I was a bit disappointed with the “About Me” link – basically she’s copied and pasted information from the latest Bloginality meme that’s doing the rounds (found at http://bloginality.love-productions.com/ for those interested). I want to know about VJ, not what some multiple-choice survey says she is. Other than that, she’s got a wee smidgeon of information about who she is – or at least what her star signs are. To find out about her, you really do need to read much of her blog and from that we find out that she’s a young woman studying marketing in Bangalore, India.

The content of the blog is pretty simple. Tidbits here and there of her thoughts and what she’s done and what she finds interesting. The blog is littered with little comedic gems such as this one about different sorts of marketing which make you giggle and you end up smiling as you read the details of this girl’s life with her studies (when she writes more indepth entries about herself). She comes across as someone who utterly enjoys her life and all of it’s little adventures, and who could complain about that?

The more I read, the more I enjoyed it. Readers can rest assured that it is a very personal blog, so don’t expect huge rantings on world events or politics or anything along that vein. I’m giving the site a 3.5, but it ranges somewhere between the 3.5 to 4 point range really. Well done VJ, it was lovely getting to know you.Melange- Cofused Wisdom

It was very black with very big text that instantly made it easy to read! There is a short part on the background of the blogs owner and directly underneath the archives. There were a manageable amount of links to look through. Cleanly laid out and easy to see what was there. I think that it is a standard template.

The first thing that I should mention is that Greg is very expressive and uses language to reflect that. If swearing or rude words offend you, then this is NOT the blog for you to read! He is honest and straight talking, and if he feels the need to swear to make a point, then he does! He reflects on his personal thoughts on life and the people that live in this world, and tells you how he feels it is! He shares alot of experiences that I think people can easily relate too. The blog started in November 2002 so it is still relatively new in content.

I think that the design in a standard template that anyone can use. The text font is large so it is easy on the eyes! I like the fact that the archives are listed and easy to find and use. The daily posts are separated by a large heading of a different colour, so it is easy to see what was written per day.

I like the stark honesty of Gregs writing and the way that he is not afraid to express his personal views. He posts a few comments form regular readers, and they seem quite happy with what he writes! He openly admits that sometimes it gets confusing, but I personally think that is part of the attraction when taking a look into Gregs mind.

This is not a blog for people that are easily offended by colourful language. Greg is aware of that and has removed himself from a Blog listing site as he is aware that his content may not be suitable. If you want to read some stark honesty and read what makes one man called Greg tick, then visit him. It may also surprise you to know that he is an ordained minister! When you arrive at dimentra dot com, the first thing you see is the greeting page. It’s a jet black background with ‘dimentra dot com’ in funky font that jigs around a little and alternates between five colors. Cool, huh? Well, that’s the word to describe Glory, the site owner, as well.

Glory is in her twenties, a website designer and an amateur internet model. All together now: Cool, huh? She is quite a looker, and there are plenty of pictures on her site, even a video of her and two other male friends available for downloading(nothing dirty, don’t worry. Or are you worrying?). Glory is basically bubbly without overdoing it, and she is incredibly candid and generous in sharing her personal life. In fact, she pretty much bares all of herself on her site(just not in the physical sense). If you click on the ‘Extras’ link, it leads to some pretty interesting links. The best one is, hands down, a whole page dedicated to her many past relationships and detailed analyses of her many ex-boyfriends, complete with pictures. Yes, complete with pictures of the men. I can only say, Wow. This is by far the most personal and open website I’ve come across. To get an idea of how honest with herself on the site Glory is, go to that page. She admits more than a few times that it was because of her lying and cheating behind backs that cost her those relationships. Yet somehow, Glory doesn’t come across as an airhead or, in her own words, “a cheap slut”, but rather a girl mostly determined to be happy and just making the most out of life. Going through Glory’s entries is enjoyable. Glory writes in a friendly way, inserting various ‘hee hee’s and ‘lol’s in the entries. The winning point is, again, her openness. Reading her journal feels like having a girlfriend pouring her heart out to me, both of us sitting on a bed. Also, there are stories and poetry sections on her site, although there is only one story and three poems in total, including one unusual poem dedicated to Weeman of Jackass fame.

As Glory is a website designer, the design is better than average. At the top of the page is a sprawling logo of bold red blocks spelling
‘dimentra'(pay some attention to the faint background), followed by the row of links to navigate around the site. An area for the thumbnails of her most recent pictures is on the right, while everything else is refreshed and viewed in the main frame. Personally, I like the design. The colors are coordinated nicely and navigation is no problem at all.

“It’s time to get straight up honest on here… I do that a lot.” That’s what Glory says, and that’s who she is. It’s her website, and it’s her all over the website – her candor, her ebullience, her ways of dealing with her life.
It’s always entertaining to hear a fun lady tell a sad story and end it with “So there is my broken heart story. Fabulous, wasn’t it?”

Go check out Glory, right now.

My first instinct is that this is going to be a news filled site. Maybe it’s the way it looks, but I doubt I had any idea what I was in for. There are a few, smaller shots of, I would guess, the author in the top left corner. These are very mysterious indeed, forcing me to want to read on. Pobrecita. My poor little one. Reminds of my days with my Hispanic friends and this is another reason I wanted to read this blog.

The first thing I began to tackle was the search for an about me page. Not finding one I did happen to find a FAQ. Read this. It’s hilarious. This made me seriously want to jump headstrong right into this blog (not to mention write the review before someone else got to). This author’s writing is captivating. I can’t help but hang on every written word. I started from the eldest entries, simply because he states, on June 14th that he needs “to organise my post break-up mid-life crisis.” The entries are funny in a quirky way that leaves you wanting to read more. They’re highly addictive with his blunt humor and candor. There’s few words in my vocabulary to describe how utterly addictive this author’s writing really is. The feelings conveyed in his entries are, well, brilliant. As a reviewer I actually feel inadequate for expressing how wonderfully written this blog truly is. Even if I don’t read through the entire blog today (which I may do anyway), I will finish reading. It is just. that. amazing.

The design is simple but functional. All of the archives work. The external links still exist. He offers in his side bars a grouping of music he’s listening to and books that he’s reading. The colors used in this blog work well together, making it quite easy to read.

The most notable of this blog is defiantly the writing and the writing style of the author. As I mentioned earlier, this FAQ is quite amusing and worth reading before you start on the blog. It gives you just enough back-story to understand why the author started the blog in the first place.

The reason to read this blog isn’t for the fun fangled stuff of other blogs. The reason to read this blog is for the writing; the engaging story that the author weaves in his entries. He’ll grab you with his wit, and keep you with the emotion. It’s hard not to understand where he’s coming from in his entries, even if he’s on the other side of the globe and quite a few years older than me. It’s a blog worth a read. If you read a few entries you’ll find yourself wanting more, like a good book that you never wanted to end.Life In The Hard Shoulder

The first thing I noticed about Amy’s site was that it’s pink – actually a rather nice combination of pinks. She hasn’t been writing the blog very long, but it’s actually pretty darn funny. Many bloggers aim to have a goal in their writing but end up focusing on their own life – Amy aims to be funny and succeeds by examining aspects of her life (and society) with humor, although she does have an occasional tendency to ramble.

Amy’s earnest nature definitely comes through in her writing. She hasn’t yet revealed much about her own life, but she is honest with her thoughts and expresses herself well. Posts sometimes jump from topic to topic, but they remain readable and enjoyable. Amy doesn’t post often yet, but what she’s written so far is definitely enjoyable to read.

As I mentioned, Amy’s site is a pleasing combination of pinks with some white thrown in for good measure. She’s kept things readable by using black text, although the large flower at the top is a little distracting until you scroll past it. Her sidebar is quite short, which causes the reader to focus on her writing rather than a bunch of links elsewhere. The site design is definitely appealing to the eye and serves its purpose.

“Life According to Amy” is definitely worth keeping an eye on, even if she doesn’t post frequently. What Amy writes is a pleasure to read and hopefully she’ll keep up the good work.

Amy submitted this site to the “Humor” category, and I initially expected it would have done better in “Personal.” I now agree with her suggested placement because she doesn’t focus too much on her own life. Amy definitely deserves her 4.5 rating.Life According To Amy
