How to describe does one describe the thisisdrew.com web log? It is hard to get a capture on it. It is a moveable type design with a basic text heavy design. It has a lot of links (links to pictures with commentary, links to other stories, links to other parts of thisisdrew.com). At first, my interest was peaked but as I look further I am wondering where the “meat” is, where the real work is being done. Then I realize that the work is the site – this Drew likes the process of developing a website (taking photographs, writing, etc).

Drew lives in Arkansas and is attending college there as well. As his weblog is really a journal, it reflects his age, temperament, and interests. It is about his life, his photography, his family, his town, etc. The writing strikes me as rather bland but if you share his interests then you might find it more interesting. The pictures are really the focus as the posting is often sparse and irregular.

The weblog itself is well organized and easy to use. The text is clear and the links all seem to function. The site doesn’t seem to reflect much personality, however, being light green and white, with black text. Again, the photography is used to express his personality the rest just seems like a place to surround his pictures.

Thisisdrew.com is largely a vanity site from a college student with an interest in photography. If you are a young college student or have a similar interest in photography and design, it might be an interesting site to visit occasionally. It is missing a hook or interesting theme, however, and seemed too sporadic and self-focused to be of strong interest to wide audience. It might work for Drew’s friends and family but it ultimately left me cold.Thisisdrew

I don’t like giving a five, it suggests that something is perfect and I almost believe that to be impossible. However, for a personal web log, Princess, is truly perfect.

The design is easy on the eyes while making the site comfortable and easily navigated.

Lizzy, an 18 year old virgo, is the center of attention here and so she should be. She has a great way of describing the most simple events in life, i.e. – about 3 entries are devoted to looking for an apartment, and you won’t even notice. This girl could go on and on about anything and I would go right along with her.

In general, I like Lizzy, she’s a good person with lots to say. She seems to see herself as a geek who reads a lot. Regardless, I like that over-readin’ geek with a 147 IQ. She’s funny, she’s witty, and a generally fun person to read about. I’ve added her to my favorites and I look forward to reading about her world in the future.Princess

Key word for this web site description:

“GOOD”

Argylez.com is a good site. The webmaster is a good guy, 28, who happens to log his life as it happens. His writing is fun and witty and I enjoyed reading his entries quite a bit.

More than his writing though, I absolutely loved his photography. He truly is talented with the lens and I will be back to view some more in the future.

If you need a good web log to read, Argylez.com is just that.

The design is good (surprised?), able to accommodate links and a web poll while still functioning as a web log.

In conclusion…

Argylez.com is the virtual home of Ryan Frasch, a regular good guy with plenty of time on his hands. His site is a good one and seems to be good to its visitors.

And now that I’ve completely worn out the word ‘good,’ you can now go explore the site that makes … good … use of this adjective, Argylez.com.

This is the web log of Monica Kate Nelson, who’s also called Mo-mo, Mon, Nelson, Mónica, Nica-Mo, and Madonnica. For the purposes of this review, we’ll call her Mo-mo because I happen to like it. Mo-mo is un-stereotypical and a undeniably good writer…

Her mood at the time of this review, as stated on her website, is “fidgety.” Ironically, possibly even coincidentally, this is exactly how her writing seems to be, as she jumps around quite a bit. It reminds me of my thought process; 1 thought leading to another and in the end I’m thinking about something totally different from what I began with. I’m sure I’m not alone in the world, especially after reading Mo-mo’s entries.

The design of this blog is pretty ordinary with purple everywhere. I happened to like the design of her old website, (now merely archives) ‘Super Monica’ better. But as far as navigation is concerned, the design works.

I’ve given Mo-mo a 4.5 because she is deserving of everything that is a 4.5. Her writing is clear and you can tell she is an alert person with many visions. I particularly enjoyed her ‘versification’ section as it does show, without a doubt, that she is a good writer.

I would suggest Mo-mo redesign her website or go back to her old design. Regardless, I am impressed by this website’s content and give it 4.5 thumbs up (because I can do that).Un-Stereotype

Meet The Orange Goddess herself, Anjali (to her teachers); Anj (to her classmates); Anju (to close friends and family). She’s the president of her school’s ‘CWG'(creative writing guild) and quite the writer and adorer of the color orange; she also enjoys Smashing Pumpkins and would most likely be Jack Skellington if she was going to be anyone on ‘Nightmare before Christmas.’ Now that the introduction is out of the way, I’ll get to the juicy stuff…

As you can see, I gave Anju (I’m officially a close friend) a 4.5 because that’s exactly what she deserved. Her writing flows well and is quite thought provoking. I also love the idea of having a Friday Five, where she answers 5, sometimes revealing, questions. Also, the fact that she is 16 makes me hopeful for our generation.

Why not a 5?

Well … her design is too simplistic and way too orange to be considered for a 5. My only suggestion to Anju is to think of a better design, for writing that deserves to be showcased in something expressive and appealing to the eye.

In conclusion…

I am in love with this girls writing and have already added her to my favorites. I suggest everyone do the same as ‘Orange Goddess’ is a keeper for reading purposes.orange goddess
