Amy Beth is an old school blogger. Her earliest archives dated back to April 2000, and she’s one of the few that have been a faithful blogger for that entire amount of time without taking much of a break at all.

The posts made over the years at this website are pretty basic. They’re either quick links to something the author has found interesting (either newsworthy or worth a few good laughs), or just a daily update on what’s either going on in her personal or work-related life. It’s nothing ground breaking, but more a casual weblog with casual reading.

All of the archives of this site are functional. Of course, there are some links that are no longer valid or some images that no longer show up, but that’s just expected when looking at something that was posted over two years ago. The only complaint about the archives would be the color schemes uses before Amy Beth started to use any weblogging tool. The colors are nice and bright, but don’t go well together and often cause a bit of eye strain when trying to read the weblog entries.

The only thing that puzzled me was the image at the top of the site. I had no real clue how the eight different images of flying creatures really related to the weblog at all. And when all was said in done, it didn’t. Of course, it had no effect on the rest of the weblog.

The rest of the site is quite extensive as well. There’s a photo gallery, postcards you can send to your friends, and a humor section to name a few.

Overall, the *supah*weblog* is a fun one to read. Amy Beth sometimes updates several times a day, and it makes for interesting reading. I would suggest giving it a visit and see if “What’s Up With What’s Going Down” is something you’ll add to your bookmark list.

I don’t think that anybody out there is against trees, unless, I guess, you’re the destructive sociopath type or belong to the log-the-earth-to-death “industry” that centers on the indiscriminate destruction of forests for “economic” purposes (read, ‘make bloody profits, who cares for the rest’).

The folks who put together everyforest.org are definitely for trees and plants. This is a green blog, literally and metaphorically. Powered by Moveable Type 2.5, and dedicated to greenery, its appearance has the simplicity and crisp, legible text that are trademarks of this blogging tool.

Everyforest.org is sparse and quite young — its archive begins in October 2002. Posts are brief one-two paragraph affairs including links to other sources/media/organizations focusing on protecting forests and countering the wanton destruction of the world’s tree/plant resources that’s accelerating. Everyforest.org, for example, reports that new research on the world’s plant species suggests that at least 50 percent of all plants may be endangered.

There is little firecracker quality to everyforest.org, and, admittedly, if you do not belong to the initiated few, the blog’s subject is not a head turner.

However, we cannot but praise the purpose of this blog’s owners, who strive to provide information about global ecological balance and, therefore, about how to defend life itself.

I doubt that everyforest.org will end up on the list of favorites of the great throngs out there, but at the end of the day it is a praiseworthy effort with room to grow. Give it some traffic and judge for yourself. everyforest

This blog is the ultimate proof that you do not need to have a particularly exciting and/or sexually-busy ‘real’ life to write an interesting blog.

At first glance, Debbie sounds like the ordinary blogger who gripes about her life in her blog. After a few lines, though, the reader can’t help but get into her story about whatever major disaster she is going through, be it a disastrous day at work, a bad dinner with the in-laws or just a general lamentation about how boring she is. Well, boring she is not. Debbie’s writing style is engrossing, and she clearly has a flair for writing. The tone is consistent throughout, and connected events flow nicely together. Here is a writer who is capable of turning the most mundane of events into a sensational tabloid news. Through her witty descriptions, one can’t help but find her life tremendously interesting.

The layout of the site is simple black and white; not anything to shout about. As for the archives: perhaps Debbie needs to re-post her old links, because the only link that shows up is ’06/01/2001 – 06/30/2001′. That’s a huge gap of more than one year in between.

Debbie writes well, and her blog is a joy to read. Other than the missing archived blogs, which left me feeling rather unsatisfied (deprived, even), this is a blog worth checking out. Who says married career women are boring?

When I reviewed this site, I was sitting in the dark in the middle of the night because I couldn’t sleep. The .wav file that loaded while I was reading through the weblog made me jump. I wasn’t expecting to hear someone whisper to me while I read through Will’s writing. It’s a unique addition to the weblog – that’s for sure.

The first thing I noticed about this site was its overwhelming use of Javascripts. While I realize this isn’t part of the weblog and therefore not part of what I’m supposed to be reviewing, I had to close a pop up window that was in my way of reading anything, and I was often distracted by the moving phrases that rotated back and forth in the status bar. The pictures at the top of the site were both part of the Javascript-ed additions to the site as well.

In recent posts, we learn about Will’s blossoming relationship, as well as find him posting somewhat prophetic and profound entries about the life he has surrounding him and the way society appears in his eyes. The author here has a very eloquent way of putting his perspectives and thoughts into words, giving the readers that visit here a very easy method of stepping into his mind. And that’s a great way to keep readers coming back for more on a consistent basis.

The entire site is very extensive with different sections that touch base on several different things. Most of the links in the sidebar are ones to essays Will has written on a variety of topics. Also in the sidebar, you’ll find links to Will’s digital pictures that are definitely enjoyable.

Overall, this was a site I will visit again. I don’t know if it’s because of the brutal honesty that Will gives his readers or the fact that he’s so well-spoken for being quite young. I recommend dropping by for a visit and experience the words Will shares in his weblog. It’ll be well worth your time.

Digital Tirade was listed as an “entertainment” blog, so I expected to show up and get the latest lowdown on television or the movies. Digital Tirade really isn’t an entertainment blog though – it’s a group blog about….well, a myriad of topics. Four guys with an overabundance of testosterone: let the hilarity ensue!

If the co-workers from Office Space got together and wrote a blog, I imagine that it would be much like Digital Tirade. Almost the whole first year of entries are mostly Waylin complaining about his job [that’s some entertaining stuff], but then the other writers of Digital Tirade show up. There is an element of an entertainment blog to Digital Tirade – there’s a section for reviews of mostly movies and video games. I will fully admit this: I love this blog. It’s funny, irreverent, and well-written. I’m totally hooked – I read every single entry, and that’s just about three years worth of entries.

The four writers at Digital Tirade don’t always play off each other’s entries, but regardless of whether they do or not, each of them makes great contributions to the blog. Devilturnip has some great entries about his trouble with cops, and I think he’s my favorite writer at Digital Tirade because he likes one of my favorite writers. Waylin is hilarious – he likes to teach Mormons about the chaos theory. I laughed and cried with Docnose as he explored the darker side of hibachi grilling, and with KoRyo as he complained about being his boss’ personal bitch.

Digital Tirade has one of the best About Me type of pages I have ever read. It doesn’t give too much information, but it’s hilarious. There is a store where you can purchase Digital Tirade merchandise, but the graphic links to the merchandise were broken when I visited. There’s also a section devoted to Waylin’s artwork, and a section that displays stills from and links to three of the writers’ webcams. Aside from all this, there are links to sites of interest and a great search feature. The design is good, with clean navigation.

Digital Tirade is one of the most entertaining blogs I’ve come across in a while – I’m definitely adding them to my blogroll list and will read regularly!
