I almost forgot that I had to review this blog because I just got so into this site. Apparently, a while ago someone else had reviewed Chris’s site and he didn’t quite like what was said. Not sure what exactly was said about his site, however I really enjoyed a lot.
I just kept reading and reading and reading; his words just rolls off the screen so well. He writes direct and doesn’t try and put too many details to fog his feelings and ideas which is good. Chris talks mostly about what’s going on in his life, like being a single parent, his new girlfriend who he clearly cares about, his 2 kids and his struggle to find some work.
But what makes his site one of the best is his optimistic outlook about life and always finds the positive in any situation, even in those painful moments of life where life seems all too real. I think we need more people like him in this world.without coffee, I have no personality at all

Brina has an idea about weblog log sites. There should only be the weblog. There is nothing else at this site to distract you. Just the weblog.
The design is even more simple: black background with purple text and a purple box outline around the body of the text. There are no fancy graphics to slow you down or to look at, no side bar of links, just the weblog. At the bottom there are two links, before and after which lead to other posts.
She writes about anything and everything that she wants to. When I started reading this site, I went backwards (like normal) and then chose to start from the begining. It only took about an hour and half to read through all 120+ posts. Most of them are pretty entertaining.
So if you are looking for a site that is just a weblog and nothing else, here you go.brina.

I have seen a lot of weblogs, and I have to say that if you took a smattering of this, and a little bit of that, ineffectual is what you would get. Needlessly short posts of little to no importance, overdone design, and a link to a site that looks remarkably like his. I swear, I got deja vu when I read over his posts. It isn’t bad; the site is grammatically correct and has some fairly digestable content, but it’s boring. It lacks identity. Dare I even say it lacks purpose. The design, although overdone, is minimal and easy to read, which is probably not something one would want with a weblog that lacks personality. Right off the bat, the writer stated “[The Weblog Review] really pisses me off. our weblogs aren’t for you. that and you’re rather superficial.” I could rant about my opinion on this topic, but abstain I shall. In addition to being bitter and having an odd obsession with the superficiality of everything, this weblog is really just a bitch-and-moan angst fest. It isn’t horrible, and it isn’t hard to read. But it lacks the identity and pinache a weblog needs to keep its head above water in this day and age.ineffectual

Wow! This site rocks! The author spews forth his opinion on books, operating systems, geek toys, and movies.
The site is deliciously colored. The green and yellow – mmmmm yummy like Jolly Ranchers.
The language is highly articulate. The author really goes the extra mile to make his writings funny and entertaining.
The photo section is full of pictures of the most adorable dog (lab?) you can ever hope to see.
While not intensely personal, this site really nails what it sets out to be: a random dumping ground of disparate thoughts, links, and reviews.

The main thing that struck me about Sarah G was the lack of any sort of background info. I mean, maybe I just couldn’t find it (which would be a problem anyway), but there was a screaming lack of any sort of “about me†page. This isn’t really the kind of blog where everything about it is intuitively obvious, so it would nice to have a page with some information about the author; something for the reader to grasp until enough of the blog has been read for them to feel comfortable.
In that same vein of thought, I found it interesting that she talked about work so much, but made it a point not to reveal what it is she does.
So, we’ll boil this down to its parts: this is the kind of blog I’d definitely find myself reading regularly, if I knew anything about her. I mean, if the blog is just for her friends who already know her, more power to her; but if it is in fact meant for a wider crowd, the blog can’t really stand up as is.Sarah G
