Sai-Lo.com is a relatively new weblog. With Steven making his entrance into the weblog world with his first post in mid-May, he makes note in that initial entry that the main requirement in all good sites is content. And after reading through this site, Steven’s got the content he needs to make Sai-Lo.com one of those good sites. As time goes on and as entries are added, that content is certain to grow even greater.

The site loads, and the crisp combination of the maroon and white immediately make this site look good. It loads quickly, and it loads correctly. The navigation portion of the site controls one side, the “spy cam” fills the other, and you find the weblog smack in the middle. Everything’s spaced out very nicely, and gives off a very clean appearance.

The only complaint I could find about the actual layout or coding bit of things just happened to be one of my biggest pet peeves. The hyperlinks that Steven links to in his weblog entries open up in the frame that’s home to the weblog – honestly my only complaint about the site.

I was happy to find an “about me” section that was both informative and entertaining. I would have liked to read more about his trusty half-sherpa, half-goat friend and companion, though! Also available for your entertainment purposes while visiting Sai-Lo.com is Steven’s online photography portfolio (called F-Stop), the early stages of a future screenplay (Two Blocks Away), his latest rant (Wha Da Fut?), and a few other sections that are certainly worth checking out.

Typically, Steven does his daily posting duties by sharing a bit of his witty sense of humor in describing what he’s planning on doing or what he had done recently. There are other times, however, when Steven really touches on some quite common major personal issues that I’m sure several other people experience. The difference between those people and Steven, though, is that Steven very eloquently types his thoughts out for others to read. While those thoughts might seem too personal to some or not something they’d be interested in reading, it draws the reader closer to Steven’s life and what he’s dealing with, and makes the reader want to come back and read more. Sounds like the prime purpose of a weblog to me.

Sai-Lo.com is a good site, especially if you’re looking to find some common ground with someone to add to your list of daily reads. Although, as Steven mentions in July 8’s post, he’s only been posting every TWO days as of late. Oh the shame.

I’m just kidding, Steven. Speaking for myself, I’ll read whatever I can get off of Sai-Lo.com.sai-lo

Wow. What another wonderful news site that I stumbled upon. In the past we have had news sites that were horrible, decent, and good, but this one takes good to the next level.

The Truth Laid Bear is basically like having a news reporter right there telling you how things are. That is the best that I can describe how the information is presented. I actually turned on my computer speakers and had the computer read the website to me and minus the crappy computer voice, it sounded like a news cast.

Mostly the posts are about news content, but some of them are just opinions on matters at hand. But don’t be alarmed because these opinion sections are more like the “bonus” sections news casts always try to get you to watch.

Design wise, there isn’t much to it. It looks like a modification of a template, but I am not sure if it is or not. It is a simple two column layout that presents all the material that is needed.

As with the last news/links site I reviewed (found here) I have similar complaints. The first is that it is hosted on blogspot. Yes I understand the fact that it is free, but the site is too good for blogspot. The other complaint is the lack of its own domain name. I would love to see the site open up at its own domain. It would just give the site that much more credibility.

Overall the site has an amazing coverage of news events. I can almost miss the evening news and read this site instead for my national news.

NOTE: After the original writing of the review, the site has a major focus on the fires going on in Colorado. Doing some research into the fires, I found that this site had some of the best coverage there was out of all the other sites.

I was taken back by the grey!! I was surprised! You don’t see many grey blogs around! I liked the picture there, and the fact that everything was in nice little boxes, so it was clear to see exactly what this blog has!

The blog is a mixture of songs to listen too, quizzes that have been taken with some personal stuff thrown into the bag for good measure!!! It contains the tales of her over 30 girlfriend and a mention of work, as well as a couple of calls for help for information!!

The site is well laid out, and you can separate the main blog from all the links. There is a bio to give you a little more information, and the blog is part of a bigger site. There is plenty to see and some of the links appear in pop up boxes so that you do not stray from the main content.

This is a nice little site, and has various posts and many things to see here via the numerous links. The personal stories are quite small, though they do make good reading. redsugar

Nice purple colours, nice big picture and lots of text!!! Text nicely on a purple background to make it easy to see, links all to the left. Oh, I liked the look of this!!! I am expecting a personal site and hoping for gossip!!

Oh dear, she is having a rough time of things at the moment, and tells you just how bad things are, but in such a way, that you cannot help smiling!! You can relate to what she says about people ganging up to get you! The blog is well written and very personal giving you a true insight as to what is in this girls head. You feel as though you actually get to know here as you read through the entries.

This is a well thought out blog, but my only worry was, and it could just be me, was that when I followed links to the bio etc, I could not get straight back to the blog! I landed up hitting the back button the whole time!
There is alot of information on this site, and I get the impression that M has put alot of thought into the content of this blog. You can find out all you need to know about her! You get plenty of chance to see her too with her large collection of photos!

If you want to find yourself a site where you can get to know someone online, then this is the site for you! There is loads of background information, pictures and real life stories of where she is every other day! The site is well designed with the purple theme running throughout. I did not visit all the links and there were quite a few, but they are clearly sectioned!

I really enjoyed reviewing this, and I think it is a site that will suit anyone that, like me, is nosey!! I enjoyed my visit here and am already wishing M luck with her job interview and sorting out her cable!! I think this is worth a visit!!! Very enjoyable!given . eyes . to . see

It’s Howlingowl.com dude! Yeah!

The first thing that catches my eye, are moving items, and the word dude. The design is not flattering, and would send most people to the back button quickly. Everything is kind of thrown up in this odd mishmash, and there are broken links for images. The color scheme is off, and hard on the eyes. It was hard to read through much of the front page. The archives are set at a black and white plain default which makes them easier to read, but breaks the continuity of the site itself.

I thought for sure that inside of this old school design there might be words of wisdom, posts of reflection and thoughts deeper than accounts of daily life. It boils down to mostly daily life accounts, which really get boring after the first ten posts. You do get a more personal glimpse as you look at the Blogger Insider posts, but it mostly reads like your typical teenage weblog. Please understand that Al is not a teenager. I wish I could say there was something about this site that would bring me back again, but there isn’t. howlinowl.com
