Wow, here is a site that for the first year was hand coded for each and every post. Amazing. Here is the deal with this site, many people able to post to the site, but only a few do regularly. Maybe it is because it just got the new work done with the backend stuff that it seems like six is the only poster.

But that is cool, because I really enjoyed his posts the best. Such thought and care went into it without really trying. Everything seemed to flow together smoothly as if each post belonged even though they are on different subjects.

I also really liked the design work of the site. Really clean and simple. He isn’t trying to impress us with his site, but his writing. And even then, I wouldn’t say he is trying to impress us, he just does it without fail. Photo section is really cool, and I suggest checking that out.

Go read the site, you will enjoy it.speechtherapy

This site is one in its own. The author posts quiet a bit, but they are short posts. Nothing too major to pick your brain at, but if you go over all of them, you can start to figure out who he is.

Lets do a little likes/dislikes thing. First the dislikes. Only one thing… The big picture of his (I am assuming it is his) head at the top of the page. I am just not a big fan of logos taking up 1/3rd of the page.

Likes: The posts are great. They make you read more if you really want to try to figure out who he is. Also, love the art. Hope he posts more of it. Bio section is great. Overall design minus note above is good. Smooth and easy to use.

Overall better than average site. Its a definite need to check out site, up to you to decide to if its a daily or weekly read.ruzz.ca

This is a blog I’ve been following for several months, during which time it has seldom failed to move me. Originally titled “Draconic,” it has gone through a few iterations and sporadic downtime. Published by the enigmatic Nyx, Reunited features clean, spare design and excellent prose. It’s witty, too, with such recent musings as “I could KILL my body, but I misplaced my clone.”

Mostly, though, I’ve enjoyed the sensitive and unusual observations of an intelligent human in a sometimes-less-than-intelligent world. There is no comment feature, so this is a monoblog, but Nyx pulls it off. Examples of mood swings captured in HTML:

“the thought of what could be done with all the focused human rage in the world doesn’t bear thinking.”

“god, humans have the most amazing words. maybe the universe really has a conscience after all.”

and perhaps most poignant:

“if you get it, let me know.

if you understand even a particle of humanity, let me know.

if you can tell me why we’ve taken everything most unique, special, pleasant, intriguing, and wonderful about our species and thrown it in the latrine, let me know.

if you understand why we demean the lovely and venerate the obscene, let me know.”

Nyx is a very odd duck and is frank about discussing just about anything. A recent personality disorder test taken revealed the following (thoughtfully published on the blog):

Paranoid: Very High

Schizoid: High

Schizotypal: Very High

Antisocial: High

Borderline: Moderate

Histrionic: High

Narcissistic: High

Avoidant: High

Dependent: High

Obsessive-Compulsive: High

Unfortunately, the recent restructuring of blogger has left the delicious archives inaccessible. Hopefully this is a temporary condition because they are well worth the time.

Solo blogging often makes for tedious reading because everyday events can be so droll, but Reunited is an exception to this rule. The quality of thought and fineness of expression make this a great daily read; it stands out like a sunflower on a golf course.

Nilesh runs a beautiful weblog concerning sci-tech news. There are daily posts consisting of links and personal commentary. The site design is perfect: an inuitive balance of aesthetics and function. It’s clearly the work of someone experienced in web design.

The content of the log reflects a deep and enthusiastic understanding of the sci-tech field. The news items are quality ones that you won’t find plastered all over other sites. (A fascinating expose on Vedic mathematics for instance) Geeks will find his topics interesting and informative. The author isn’t a native English speaker so the writing lacks a native style, but it’s clear, concise, and very intelligent.

If you’re into science and technology, this one is worth bookmarking.

An archetypical personal blog: The writing is intelligent, witty, and extemely infectious. It provides thoughtful commentary on living and loving life. She strikes a rare chord in writing about the events of her life so that they will be meaningful to casual readers.

The author is a child of the a postmodern generation, but far from being overwhelmed by the vast scope of cultural knowledge, she affirms everything that’s good about our world. Her taste in music, movies, and literature is well-developed. (ranging from the Nietzschean Fight Club and Ayn Rand’s objectivism to the decadence of Austin Powers) There’s lots of content here.

The site design isn’t really that creative, but that’s the only thing that keeps this blog from perfection. Other than thet, it’s a gem. She shows maturity, humor, and it’s evident the she loves her readers. It’s a great place to come for an exhibition of modern culture.Where does the time go when it’s not around here?
