Matt’s weblog is a little unusual in that it takes the form of a separate journal as part of his site, rather than simply being on the front page like so many others. I don’t think that this is a particularly wise move either; the first thing people want to see when they go to someone’s blog is to see the blog. Archives can be moved off into a new section, but it is better, in my opinion, to show the key content right from the off.

When you do find the journal (which is grouped by day, reverse chronologically), it is well written and absorbing. The writer (himself an aspiring novellist/playwright) comes across as intelligent, although if he spent a bit more time and effort on grammar and spelling the end result would be far more satisfying.

You have to put in some work to get much from this site, and in the six-second world of the Internet, far too many people will be going off-site for their content without really exploring the site. It is worth visiting, and shows some promise.bandersnatch
