Novocaine is mostly made up of links and references to external documents, but proves mildly distracting nonetheless.
Design-wise, the site is clean and effective. It isn't often that you come across a circa 1996 textured background, and thank goodness he didn't put text over it. The surprise: it works very well. The end result is a smart, easily navigable website.
It is more adult in tone than the majority of the sites I've reviewed, and if you want some more "mature" commentary (and links) then this is the place to come. You can also see the alternative Angelina Jolie background the page used to have, if you dig deep enough.
