Well, what can one say about this site really? I snatched up the review because I though the name was kinda cute. And well, it reminded me of my ex-fiance (Nick, who’s favourite insult was “bastard”). On to the real review…

This site didn’t blow me away design wise, there just isn’t one. I’m pretty sure that he’s using a BlogSpot template, with a very basic colour scheem. You could try and say it’s and attempt at making the site look very sleek and simple, as to not take away from the totally rockin’ content, but that’s all thrown out the window by the banner at the top and the fact that there is no witty, intellectual content.

Nick’s site is you’re typical diary blog. I’m sure it’s interesting to a select group of friends who know him in real life, but to the rest of us it’s just an acount of some random person’s day to day life. And quite frankly, I really don’t care what some random person got on their SAT’s.

So unless that’s your thing, just don’t bother going.

Nothing jumped out and screamed at me when I looked at and through this site. If anything at all would have grabbed my attention, it would have been a great improvement for this site.

I couldn’t tell when the site was updated last, or even if it’s still maintained because the different entries aren’t dated at all, and the only archive method is by page numbers and by catagory. There are eight pages of archives to thumb through in all.

I did learn the correct way to pronounce Houston, TX, and that was fun.

The author covers a wide range of current events in the posts. Movies, music, and travel are just a few of the different topics that the author touches base on with a straight forward writing style.

I couldn’t find an “about section”, and because of the lack of personal content, I didn’t really feel like I knew who was posting to this site.

There were very few personal tones in this weblog, which is why I categorized it in the news/links section.aprendiz de todo

Despite the interesting title, I must admit I was disappointed with JustAddBrains.com. Initially, the site was so spare and so bland that I was amazed that someone would get their own site just for this. Once I read a little deeper into the posts I understood better where the author was coming from but the site does not jump out and grab you that is for sure.

The posts are basically complaints from the author on things that get on his nerves, he can’t explain, or actions he thinks reveal a lack of brains. Not to be cruel but it is Seinfeld without the punch lines.

As I said, the design of the site is pare and rather bland. The most that can be said for it is that crisp. The posts, however, are clear and easy to read. There is a comment section and a newly added reader rants.

Overall, I would say if you are interested in the random complaints of a stranger check it out but otherwise move on to something with a little more zip.JustAddBrains.com

Immediately, I liked the name of this weblog – Croc O’ Lyle, and was happy I could read the story behind the site name.

Lyle’s purpose here is to write about things that he may: “find interesting or have to say related to usability, web design, information architecture and user experience practices”, according to his weblog. And Lyle follows through with exactly what he has set out to do.

The site design is very basic and clean – no extra frills or annoying color schemes.

The point of Lyle’s website is very well achieved, and Lyle does a fine job of posting a great deal of information in a small area of writing. His thoughts are concise, yet complete, and he does a nice job of not writing way over the average reader’s head.

If “usability, web design, information architecture and user experience practices” are your bag, then this is your place to visit. If you have no clue what those things are, then this probably isn’t a site you’ll enjoy. Croc O’ Lyle

Humor can only get you so far in the world, and unfortunately that alone can’t get you a 5.0 at The Weblog Review.

The author of this site is funny, and does have a wonderful sense of humor that he displays throughout his entire weblog. However, there’s *just* a weblog here – no “about” section, nothing at all to help the reader learn more about the author.

The layout is that of a standard Blogger template, however, the author does make mention of a possibly redesign in the near future.

While I did laugh to myself several times while reading different posts, I didn’t really feel like this was a site I couldn’t live without. A major part of that was the lack of information about the author.

The humor at “American Waste” is worth checking out.American Waste
