Ahhhhh! After reading soooo many of these weblog thing-a-ma-bobbers one really starts to appreciate literacy.

The most appealing aspect of this weblog is the story-telling nature of the posts. The writings are linear, coherent, entertaining, peppy, and completely top-notch. The author has a charming, self-deprecating sense of humor and isn’t shy about showing it.

Common themes include: NYC life, the best dog I ever had, older folks at rock shows, and unemployment.

Aesthetically, the site is nicely laid out (traditional greymatter layout). The text is accessible and easy to read. The color scheme is the only thing keeping this site from being a 5. The colors are a bit too muted/washed out for my tastes. The graphics are “cutesy” and fun though.

In conclusion, this weblog is very charming and definitely worth a read.

First post I read was a poem that was very good. I wasn’t sure if this weblog was supposed to be of just poems (second post was also a poem) so I quickly headed over to the about me section.

I found out he has a lot in common with me. Computers are fun and what not, declaring a major is not a fun idea, and taking time off from school helped figure out what was going on.

Back to the weblog. Reading, reading, reading. Normal, general bs stuff you would typically get from a college student. After all in his about me he said it is kind of like a dot com keepsake so he can look back at it when he gets old and remember what it was like to be a college student again.

What I liked most about this site was the poetry that was written. There is something very interesting about a college guy posting about drinking with buddies, and then writting a poem. I reall enjoyed it.

The design of the site is very slick and clean. It does justice for the site. Enjoy this site for what it has, as it will be something to remember.Savingface

I always am curious how someone will make a news/links site unique to their own. Sometimes it is with design, other times it is with comments, and sometimes it is with just the types of links.

This site has all three of those. It also has some personal life thrown in the mix.

The design itself is original, but looks like a modification of other designs. It reminds me a lot of metafilter. But that is ok, because the design really isn’t the issue. One thing I would change is making the default be new windows, instead of checking the box to force that.

The comments that are made to introduce us into the site that is being linked is crucial. If it were just a link without any context, why would I visit it? But good thing is that there are some good lines thrown in about the link.

The types of things he links to vary quite a bit from games to posts about products to random stuff. All of which are things that he is looking at which are things most bloggers would find enjoyable.

The posts about his daily life are short, but I get the impression they are supposed to be that way. The focus of this site, in my opinion, is that of the links that he posts.

Over all a very good site with a lot of links that I think most people will enjoy.

My, what a pretty weblog we have here! The regal shades of purple, elegant glass dragon graphic, and mouseover effects can mean only one thing: This is a chick blog. Yes, it is, and it is a chic and enjoyable chick blog, as well.

Kirin, the 24 year old author of Disorganized Thoughts, posts entries that are anything but disorganized. Topics often focus upon daily life events, thus making this a true personal weblog, and entries are often rife with humor and insight. Kirin does not beat around the bush, so to speak, in her entries; she is very straightforward and convivial. Her manner of writing is such that the reader feels as if he or she is listening to a good friend detail the events of a given day. One may easily imagine sharing a conversation with the author over lunch or drinks, and this vivid style of writing is quite fresh and delightful. The author’s composition is solid, as are her grammar and spelling; and, while she does write in the vernacular, she manages to avoid an overuse of slang — a definite plus!

Disorganized Thoughts’ current layout and design is spectacular in its visual impact. Hues of royal purple mingle with touches of black and gilt to present a truly elegant appearance which views best in MSIE 5.5. Viewers who utilize NS will find that the content blocks do not expand to accommodate the content and the site’s search function will not work. Disorganized Thoughts is fully readable when loaded in NS 6.1, but the reader will lose out on the total effect of the site’s design. A bit of tweaking here and there will easily remedy the problems found when viewing this site in NS 6.1 and the author is encouraged to make the necessary adjustments. Also, note that this site must be viewed at full screen, otherwise image links will stack and the site becomes distorted. This flaw may also be remedied with a bit of code enhancement.

External links and archive links, as well as a search function, are contained to a side menu and all links appear to be in working order. Mouseover links at the top of the site lead to the author’s bio page and a “Substance” page which is not to be missed. The internal site links greatly enhance the weblog and should be explored by prospective readers.

Disorganized Thoughts is a thoroughly pleasing personal weblog which may be enjoyed by many, though it’s target audience may prove to be women in their 20’s and 30’s. This site is highly recommended for those readers who favor well-written personal weblogs filled with unique and bold perspective.

“Sheherazade: one thousand and one nights” is quite a good site. The
layout’s nice with a blurred image of a girl sitting down on the left side
of the site, however I’m not a fan of layout of the navigation area which is
inside a small window where I have to scroll around to find information.

I really liked her writing once I got to reading. I found myself laughing a
bit at some things Sara, the author said like when she was on some car trip
and said she kept throwing up. Then she went on to say, “i think i was food
poisoned or something. or maybe it was nausea from the car trip. either way,
it was NASTY. ugh, i’m still dizzy now. but i just had the yummiest
popsicle.” I love it, here she was going on and on about throwing up and
then she goes and eats. Along with being funny at times, I also was able to
identify with her on occasion like when she was talking about how a
friendship of hers was falling apart to the point where they could no long
talk to each other when they were around each other.

In addition to her blog, she has your standard links and photo pages and a
bio section where she shares her other interests. Another section contains
her opinions and feelings on controversial topics such as faith which make
for an interesting read.

Sara definitely has some good stuff to say and I like how she expresses her
thoughts and feelings through her posts. I like that Sara’s voice was came
through her writing which makes reading her site enjoyable.

*I reviewed this site a while back and didn’t give it the best of reviews
for various reasons and later was notified that the site was
having some problems, so it was only fair that I re-review it.
