The most surprising thing to me about InkBlog is that fact that it is so chockful of great posts, and yet no one bothers to comment and give feedback to this wonderful writer. I’m elated that she kept on going though – keeping up with this blog for almost two full years so far.

The design of the site is simple and clean – a basic BloggerPro template, including courier fonts (which at first bothered me but once I got used to it I kind of liked). Color scheme was also simple – which helped me stay involved with the excellent writing at the site. Add in a healthy mix of links and this is a well-designed site that offers no frills but lots of good content.

Too often I see blogs that just don’t have a lot of content even though they’ve been around a while. This one raises the bar – the author has a wide variety of interests, whether she’s telling personal stories or providing commentary on world events. Reading through her archives was a complete pleasure and enabled me to get to know the author despite no real “about me” information.

I’ll probably become a regular reader at this blog and will also feel free to comment and let her know she’s appreciated. You should do the same!InkBlog

OK, call me uptight, but I do NOT find naked women, dirty jokes, gross pictures and whatnots ‘humor’. I call them ‘low entertainment’. Apparently these are what Dimi3.com is all about.

First off, this is not a blog. It is a sort of ‘link site’ where users get to view links that other users put up, or submit their own recommended links. A chance to comment on links is also available for those who feel the need to discuss boob sizes after viewing a particular porn gallery. The interactive element here is quite a nice touch, and it appears to be user-friendly. Sadly, no one seems to be willing to share their thoughs, for out of the 28 links on the front page, there are zero comments. Perhaps viewers are too embarrassed to expose what they were thinking about. Either that or no one cares.

At first glance, the site seems innocent enough, with a nice layout and easy navigation, but it soon dawned on me that I was looking at something I definitely did not want to look at. One major question: How oh how can pornography be classified as ‘humor’? What’s so funny about female anatomy? The rest of the links aren’t much better – there’s a picture of a squashed and very dead rat embedded in a loaf of bread, videos of bikini karate babes…you get the idea. It might be just me, but porn seems prevalent on the site.

As I’ve said, call me uptight. If you are into these sort of things, by all means enjoy yourself. The only good thing about the site is the interactive element, which totally goes to waste on its ‘target audience’. Last note: Where’s the ‘above 18’ warning? And while we’re at that, how about a ‘for the mindless only’?

I am oddly attracted to The Bad One Says… the minute the site loads on my PC. I have no idea why – I hate orange. But the blog has a clean design and looks easy to read. Maybe I was just sucked in through the hallway on the logo graphic.

Drew, the writer of The Bad One Says…, seems inordinately preoccupied with sex, porn, and nudity on the internet. Most of his entries are either about his foibles trying to pick up chicks in chat rooms or about the correct etiquette of it all. There aren’t very many entries, but there seem to be an upswing of posting activities this month. Most of November’s entries are very, very short. There are a few funny entries which I don’t think were meant to be funny – like the writer’s discussion of a camgirl relationship gone bad. There’s a lot of unintentional irony going on.

Like I said, I really like the design of The Bad One Says…. After reading the entirety of the blog entries the design doesn’t seem to match up with the writing. However, the current design’s navigation is easy. There is a great search feature located on the Archives page, but it isn’t immediately find-able. I recommend putting the search feature on the main index page. I also recommend an “About Me” type of page.

I probably would not go back for another read of The Bad One Says…. The writing didn’t grab me, and I’m not really into the whole webcam/chatroom virtual sex scene.

A weblog thrown into the New/Links section is one that’s tricky to review. The author here, however, does a very nice job of implementing his own ideas and his own thoughts, rather than stealing those opinions from another source. Putting informative news articles in with a knowledgeable opinion makes this weblog one that’s very educational.

The layout to the site is a very simple one. There are tables all over the place, but organized very well, making navigation and reading through its lengthy posts a pleasant experience. Nothing extraordinary about this design, but there’s not anything negative either.

The author does a good job of combining excerpts from actual news articles with other related links as well as his own opinion. This makes for thorough reading about several different topics ranging anywhere from politics.

Grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure – everything in that aspect is nearly perfect. The only problem I had with this particular weblog is that I just couldn’t get into it. I’m sure it was the fact that I’m not up to snuff in the “GreekNews, GreekViews, GreekOpinions about Greece”, as the author puts it. I’m sure, however, that someone with interests in those topics would find this weblog to be quite useful and visit-worthy.

The Cartoonist doesn’t really say much at first glance. Coffee cup, a blue streak, and the words “Cartoons. Advertising. Raumpatrouille. OS X.” I fully expected a bizarre mix of news links to cartoons, advertising, programming, and Raumpatrouille [something SciFi-ish].

The writer, Ralf, does provide links to things related to his promise. I also found links to many other things as well. I can only find entries dating back to September, so it’s a rather young blog.

Normally I’m not a big fan of news blogs, but Ralf has some funny links. In addition, this is not strictly a news blog because Ralf posts the latest cartoons he’s drawn. It’s the best reason to visit the site — Ralf is very talented.

I may pop back to The Cartoonist from time to time, but I doubt I would become a regular reader. If you have an interest Raumpatrouille, it might be the blog for you.
