Bumptious
Wow. Where to begin with this site? How about with what I didn't do for it. I didn't read the other reviews already written on this site for fear of it influencing my rating or judgment of it. I did take a sneak peak at the ratings however just to see who reviewed it, and what they thought of it. But of course, since it was already reviewed, she posted that info on her site.
So what did I find here at Bumptious? I found a funny site with lots of direct and indirect humor. For the most part I laughed at what was being said, but then other times I wasn't as "tickled" shall we say as other times. But I quickly solved the question of why the other reviewers found the site extremely funny, and I only laughed at parts - because I am male, and the author of the site is female.
Yes, sometimes that makes all the difference. I couldn't relate near as well as the other reviewers could for that reason. So with solving that little problem I read on.
Ok, so we got some funny stuff, what else is there to read here? Some personal posts, some posts about the government, some about movies and actors and all that other stuff. It is a fairly "general" (I say that very loosely) blog, with the exception that it is funny.
The design of the site has to be a blogger template, which works. However, I would like to see a Bumptiously design to reflect the words the author writes. Also, she likes to bolden certain phrases to really grab my attention, or to enforce a thought which I liked. But design, there isn't anything here since it is a template.
Over all the site is very well done, and enjoyable. If you want a good laugh, head on over. And if you are female and want a good laugh, you really should take a look. So go check out Bumptiously and have yourself a good laugh.

The word bumptious has me a bit curious, as I had no idea if it were a real word or not. The author of this weblog quickly satisfied my curiosity with this explanation: “The dictionary defines bumptious as ‘crudely or loudly assertive; pushy’. Let's get to it.” And now let’s get to the review.
Right away, I knew I’d like the attitude of this site. The author’s entries cover the hottest current events around recently ranging from the controversial couple of “Bill and Kathy”, the potential parents incapable of producing naturally so they’re deeming it necessary clone the lovely Kathy, to the escapades on the latest make-me-famous TV show, American Idol.
Other than the author’s undying love for L.A. Laker big man Rick Fox and secret (or not so secret) obsession with Matt Lauer, readers aren’t really invited into the personal life of this entertaining writer. The lack of personable writing is made up to everyone by the author’s witty repartee and intelligent banter directed towards the major happenings of our society.
Something I would normally be disappointed in is the lack of the “about the author” section. And while there’s no information for readers to try and connect with, I don’t think anyone will have a problem connecting with something that’s been posted over the course of the month or so this weblog has been up and running.
The design is one of those standard Blogger templates. I would love to see something a little more unique for this site just because my opinion of the Bumptious is that it’s much, much more than the average weblog and deserves the same in a layout.
Call it your daily news with a bite, or call it some pent up aggression spilled out onto the world wide web. Whatever you decide to call it, this site comes highly recommended if you’re asking my opinion of it.

I like this woman. I may not know anything about her, but she's funny.
Upon entering this blog I noticed that it's in the no-frills Blogger template, which I have no problem with. She has a cute tiny picture of a kitten (I'm a sucker for kittens) on her sidebar, as well as links to a couple other websites and her archives. Other than that, her site is just her musings and little else. And that's not a bad thing in this case.
Our host has only been doing the blog since July, but she's active and posts regularly. Her posts are largely commentary on pop culture, with some miscellaneous mentions of her personal life tossed in for good measure. While her posts are brief, they are snarky and fun to read.
There are no extra frills here - other than her email address I saw no personal information whatsoever. It's literally an anonymous woman posting funny anecdotes and thoughts online. But it works.
