Raymond’s Retreat is a VERY extensive weblog that definitely holds something for everyone.
Each weblog (there are four) is housed on its’ on page, which prevents the site from being very cluttered or hard to look at.
The personal weblog contains rather long entries, which I sometimes found hard to follow. Raymond has a “best of link” that features, in his opinion, some of the best weblog entries he’s done. Among some of the more recent entires were an entire script from a British comedy, poetry excerpts, and some very, VERY eloquent writing by Raymond. Other fun reads featured an entry on dating requirements, and general updates on the daily life of Raymond.
Reading about Raymond’s experience with a strange cat read like a novel – very intense, descriptive, and detailed. His details, descriptions, and choice of words honestly made me feel as if I was *right* there.
The news/arts blog was also very extensive, but I felt like it provided the reader with VERY much information that seemed to be paraphrased for the average Joe to read and comprehend.
The exercise and cooking weblogs look to be more “personal blogs” that Raymond has set up for himself. It’s a neat way to keep yourself in check, and that’s my opinion on what Raymond’s doing.
Raymond’s site design isn’t out to win any contests, but his weblog(s) are definitely ones that will be entertaining and informative for the average reader.Raymond’s Retreat

Wow I am tired now. Is that even possible? To be exhausted from reading a weblog? For most, I would say no. However, ImJstAGrrl managed to make me physically worn out just by reading the weblog.
Lets start at the beginning. Page first loads and it is a live journal page. Yeah, live journal. For some reason, live journal doesn’t have the greatest of weblogs and I don’t know why. But lets put that aside shall we?
So the page loads and I see this horrible background that is repeated. Each weblog post has its own black and red box, which matches the background, and that is about it. To put it simple, the background takes away from the design of the site, but it adds to the weblog. How can it do both you ask? The background is one of those old background images repeated. Most sites today do not have a background like this. And since this isn’t your every day weblog, the background works.
But we aren’t here to discuss the design too much; we are here to talk about her weblog. So how is it that one person’s weblog can make me tired? I am reading through the entries like I normally do, get down to the bottom for the archives and click on the link. The post that come up are from two days ago! ImJstAGrrl posts multiple times a day. So much so, that skipping the first 20 posts, took me back only two days. And the best part, its this way for a long time back.
Because of the mass number of posts, you should expect short little 3 line posts. That is what you get. But they make sense after reading the site for a while. If you just go into this site and read the first 5-10 posts, you are going to think this girl is a nut case. But if you start to actually read all of the posts, you will see it makes sense. To me, the posts were kind of like mini conversations you would have with your friends passing down the hall between classes in Jr. High or High School. But with more meaning to them. As I said, you have to read the site to understand them.
The only downfall I really had to the site was the little link to what she calls “nervous breakthrough”. The live journal page is just a page in her full site. The main site is nervous breakthrough and has some really good design and information about her in. She also has a webcam, but because she doesn’t fit the stereotypical camgirl, she doesn’t get that category.
Over all I think she has a good weblog here. Some of you may not like it, but I am sure that most of you will. If she applied the design of her Nervous Breakthrough page to her live journal page it would be even more appealing. Go enjoy.silent rage’s livejournal

What an addictive site!
Truthfully, when I saw that the weblog for “Insanity at its finest” was a LiveJournal site, I really had my doubts. But at the very glance of the site, those doubts were quickly removed.
It’s a basic weblog layout with colors that compliment each other very well. You can’t ask for much more for a eye-pleasing weblog layout.
The posts are very frequent, and generally very entertaining. They give you insight to her day, and into the people (and animals, of course!) she interacts with. The author has a sense of humor that would suit anyone, and typically made me laugh outloud.
There are links at the top of the weblog to an actual website created by the author, and those are worth checking out also, if you’re looking to find out more about what makes the author of this weblog.
I liked Insanity At Its Finest, and as she writes on one of her main webpages, it’s definitely addicting!insanity at its finest

What a fun read! I wanted to read more, but couldn’t find an archives link anywhere. And that was the only major letdown of “Listen Esmerelda”.
Erika did a good job distoring different digital pictures on each section of her entire site. The images were on the left, giving the right side of the screen a fill of text. And the way it was presented was very classy, in my opinion.
All of Erika’s posts were very casual, which made them easy to read and interested me in her life. There’s definitely humor in each post, and I found myself laughing outloud a few different times.
Some of the weblog entries were just quiz results, and there were A LOT of quiz results! But recently, Erika finally got the digital camera she’s been wanting and has been able to share some pictures in her posts. And pictures, I do believe, are always entertaining!
I think I’ll visit Erika’s site again, just for the reason that I like her writing style and her sense of humor. I highly suggest you check it out at least once.

This site is primarily made up of links the author finds interesting. There’s really no theme to links he posts, so there is something there for just about everyone. There’s very little personal comment on the links, but the commentary he did post was interesting.
Most of the links are not from unique places on the ‘net. They come from some of the most popular news/newspaper sites.
He does have a page of webcams which, I assume, belong to his friends. That’s fairly interesting. Also, he has a picture page that’s interesting as well.
The layout is plain and simple, but I think it works well for this type of site.
Although there’s very little that’s unique here, I would recommend it for someone who wants an alternative to daypop.com, blogdex, etc. to find popular, interesting links.JoseMadre!
